Question : 1 What is organ system?

Answer – A group of organs working together to perform a particular work for our body forms an organ system.

Question: 2. Write the name of any three organ system.

Answer: Skeletal system, Nervous System and Digestive System.

Question: 3. What is skeletal system? Write the name of different parts of the skeletal system.

Answer – Skeletal system is the framework of bones that gives support and shape to our body.

Different parts of skeletal system are Skull, rib cage, backbone, limbs, cartilage, muscles, and joints.

Question: 4. Write the function of skeletal system.

Answer: Functions of the skeletal system:

It gives support, shape and strength to the body.

It provides the points of attachment for different bones.

Question: 5. Write a short note on skull.

Answer – Skull is one of the most important parts of skeleton. Skull protests our brain. Skull consists of 28 bones in an adult human. All bones in the skull are fixed except lower jaw. The lower jaw is only movable part in skull. Lower jaw enables us in talking and eating. The upper and lower jaw has teeth which help in cutting and chewing food.

Question: 6. What is cartilage?

Answer: Cartilage is soft elastic substance that holds the bones. Cartilage makes the ends of the bones smooth which helps in the movements. Without cartilage, the bones would rub against each other and would create many difficulties. Some organs like nose, ears have cartilage.

Question: 7. How many parts are there in human brain. Write the function of each part.

Answer– There are three parts in human brain.

Cerebrum – Cerebrum helps in learning, memorizing, intelligence, and logic.

Cerebellum – Cerebellum helps in muscle coordination and in maintaining the balance of our body.

Medulla– Medulla is the lower part of the brain. Medulla is also called hind brain. Medulla controls heart beat, breathing, swallowing, and sneezing.

Question: 8. How many are there parts in ear?

Answer– There are three parts in human ear these are External ears, middle ears and inner ears.

Question: 9. What is external ear? Write the function of external ear.

External ear– The external part of the ear which is visible is called external ear. External ear is called pinna also. External ear may vary in shape and size in different animals. External ear directs the sound waves to the middle ears. All mammals have external ears.

Question: 10. What are joints?

Answer – Where two bone meet are called joints. Jonts enable bones in movement. Bone joints are connected to each other by strong fibrous tissue. Most joints are movable. There are four kinds of movable joints in our body.

Question: 11. Write the name of the types of joints with example.

Answer:

Ball and socket joint – Ball and socket joint is found in shoulder and hip.

Hinge joint– Hinge joint is found knee, elbow, fingers and toe.

Pivot joints– Pivot joints are found in the first two vertebrae.

Gliding joint– Gliding joints are found in wrist and ankle.

Question: 12. What is nervous system? Write the different parts of nervous system.

Answer – Our body has different system all system control by brain. Brain and nerves makes nervous system. Brain, spinal cord and nerves are different parts of nervous system.

Question: 13. How many vertebrae in the back bone? What is the function of back bone?

Answer – There are 33 vertebrae which make backbones. Backbone protects the spinal cord. These vertebrae from a hollow ring like structure. They are jointed with each other to give flexibility to us bend or move.

Question: 14. How many types of muscles are there in our body? Write their names and functions.

Answer – There are three types of muscles in our body.

Skeletal muscles– Skeletal muscles help in movements of our body. Skeletal muscles are in our direct control. Muscles in the arm are the example of the skeletal muscles.

Cardiac muscles– Cardiac muscles are present in heart and helps in heart beat. We do not control cardiac muscles.

Smooth muscles– Smooth muscles are present in the digestive system. These muscles function automatically.

Question: 15. What is reflex action?

Answer – Automatic response of the body to an event is called a reflex action. Reflex action is very fast. Reflex action takes place due to message sent by our external organ to the spinal cord.

Question: 16. What are sense organs? Write the name of sense organ.

Answer – Organs which enable us to sense the world are called sense organs. Our body has different types of sense organs which enable us to see, hear, taste, smell and touch.

Our body has five sense organs; these are eye, ear, nose, tongue and skin.

Question: 17. What is optic nerve? Where does it found?

Answer – The nerve which connects eye to the brain is called optic nerve. Eye sees the things and optic nerve sent massage to the brain. Optic nerve is found in the eye.

Question: 18. Define Spinal cord.

Answer: Spinal cord is made of nerve tissues. The spinal cord is a bunch of long and thick nerves. Spinal cord transfers information from brain and other part of the body. Spinal cord controls all the movements and of our reflex action.

Question: 19. Define medulla.

Answer: Medulla is the lower part of the brain. Medulla is called hind brain also. Medulla controls heart beat, breathing, swallowing, and sneezing.
