Given,

Speed = 8 km/h

Time = 8 second

Thus, distance = ?

Conversion of the speed from kilometer per hour to meter per second

To convert kilometer per hour, the speed is multiplied by 5/18

Therefore, 8 km/h = 8 × 5/18 m/s

= 8 × 5/18 m/s

= 40/18 = 2.22 m/s

Thus, speed = 2.22 m/s

Calculation of distance using formula

Formula to calculate distance when speed and time are given

Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ Distance = 2.22 m/s × 8 s = 17.76 m

Thus, distance = 17.76 meter Answer

Calculation of distance using Unitary Method

∵ In 1 second the distance covered = 2.22 meter
