NCERT Exercise 9.1 Question 7

Rational Numbers 7th Math

NCERT Exercise 9.1 Question 7

In this section, we will learn to rewrite the given rational numbers in their simplest form. If there is no digit or number common other than 1 in the numerator and denominator of a rational number, then the rational number is called in its simplest form. In question number 7 of the NCERT Exercise 9.1 class seven math, four rational numbers are given to simplify them into their simplest forms.

Solution of the NCERT Exercise 9.1 Question number (7)

Question (7) Rewrite the following rational numbers in the simplest form:

(i) – 8/6

Solution:

Given rational number is – 8/6

Here the simplest form of the given rational number is to find.

In order to get the standard form or simplified form, we need to write the numerator and denominator in the prime factorized form. After that, the simplest form of the given rational number is obtained by canceling or removing the common factors from the numerator and denominator.

= 2 × 2 × 2/2 × 3

= – 2 × 2/3

= – 4/3

Thus, the simplest form of the given rational number – 8/6
= – 4/3 Answer

Question (7) (ii) 25/45

Solution:

Given rational number is 25/45

Here the simplest form of the given rational number is to find.

In order to get the standard form or simplified form, we need to write the numerator and denominator in the prime factorized form. After that, the simplest form of the given rational number is obtained by canceling or removing the common factors from the numerator and denominator.

= 5 × 5/5 × 3 × 3

= 5/3 × 3

= 5/9

Thus, the simplest form of the given rational number 25/45
= 5/9 Answer

Question (7) (iii) – 44/72

Solution:

Given rational number is – 44/72

Here the simplest form of the given rational number is to find.

In order to get the standard form or simplified form, we need to write the numerator and denominator in the prime factorized form. After that, the simplest form of the given rational number is obtained by canceling or removing the common factors from the numerator and denominator.

= 2 × 2 × 11/2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

= – 11/2 × 3 × 3

= – 11/18

Thus, the simplest form of the given rational number – 44/72
= – 11/18 Answer

Question (7) (iv) – 8/10

Solution:

Given rational number is – 8/10

Here the simplest form of the given rational number is to find.

In order to get the standard form or simplified form, we need to write the numerator and denominator in the prime factorized form. After that, the simplest form of the given rational number is obtained by canceling or removing the common factors from the numerator and denominator.

= – 2 × 2 × 2/2 × 5

= – 2 × 2/5

= – 4/5

Thus, the simplest form of the given rational number – 8/10
= – 4/5 Answer
